Over a 25 year period Hans Jeurissen has introduced herds of top quality specialized game to the farm: original Kimberley-area Roan, free-roaming pure Matetsi Sable from Atherstone Nature Reserve, and the unrivalled bloodlines of Thaba Tholo and Tembani Zambian Sable as well as Madikwe Buffalo.

Together with the participation of his family, Hans and his team at Silent Valley have focused on breeding animals, not only of superior horn and body size, but animals that are also robust and healthy. All our breeding stock is run in large, semi-extensive camps with other game species. Supplementary feeding is limited to mineral and protein licks. We never blanket or routine treat for parasites. This ensures that animals bought from Silent Valley are hardy and self reliant.

The initial investment has grown to a stock holding of over 250 individual Sables, 70 Roan Antelope and nearly 200 Buffalo, along with countless colour variant antelope and other species of rare game.
